We have some exciting news to share: Tasks.org, a popular Android tasks app, has recently added built-in support for EteSync! Kudos to Alex Baker, the maintainer of Tasks.org, for all of his amazing work.

Why is this exciting?

EteSync has already supported tasks sync for over a year using the OpenTasks protocol, an open Android protocol for tasks sync. Unfortunately, the only app that supports it is OpenTasks itself, so that was also the only tasks app you could use with EteSync.

This has now changed! Tasks.org is a popular tasks app for Android, which many of the EteSync users already know and love, and I personally think is one of the best tasks apps out there!

It goes without saying, that Tasks.org, like OpenTasks, is fully compatible with the rest of the EteSync apps. This means that for example, tasks create with Tasks.org will work with the web client and Thunderbird (via the DAV bridge) and vice-versa.

Start using it now!

Make sure you have an EteSync account on EteSync.com (or host your own server), install the Tasks.org app, and then just go to Settings > Synchronization > Add account > EteSync and enter your EteSync credentials.

Keep in mind that synchronization is a "Pro" feature in Tasks.org. So in order to use it, you would either need to unlock Pro (as little as $1 a year, and well deserved) or if you would rather not give Google your card details, install Tasks.org from F-Droid which already has Pro features unlocked (and consider donating to support Alex's work!).

While the EteSync support is fairly new, it relies on the same JVM library used by the EteSync Android app, so things should be quite stable. With that being said, if you do spot anything wrong, please report the issue on the Tasks.org issue tracker.

As usual, we would like to remind you that we rely on your feedback and contributions to make EteSync better. Do you have any suggestions or are experiencing any issues? Please send patches, report issues or just contact us.
